The main function of the road mixer is to stabilize the soil

The main function of the road mixer stabilizing soil mixer is to crush the soil and uniformly mix the soil with the stabilizer. This process is completed in the working chamber composed of the rotor casing by the rotation of the rotor height. Depending on the work object (that is, the hardness of the soil), the rotation direction of the selected rotor is also different: when the mixing operation is performed on a softer soil layer, the normal rotation method is generally used; when the mixing solution is performed on a hard soil layer When milling old asphalt concrete pavements, the reverse method is often used. The following analyzes the operation process of the stabilized soil mixer when the stabilizer has been spread on the soil layer.

(1) Forward operation process

When the rotor is rotating forward, the high-speed rotating cutter cuts a thin crescent-shaped chip from the soil layer and throws it to the casing. This is the cutting process; the thrown soil hits the casing wall with a certain force. Then it scattered around, lifting a part of the soil particles was crushed; some soil particles collided with the cutter again, or collided with each other, this process is called secondary crushing; another part scattered after colliding with the shell The soil particles and the sunk soil shell are taken up by the cutter and thrown to the area B of the shell wall on the upper part of the rotor. Some of the soil particles are gradually advanced and placed in the area A and form a long strip of mound; The soil located in Area A will be impacted and cut by the rotor cutter again. The above process is repeated many times. The picture makes the particles broken very fine and mixes with the stabilizer uniformly. In the end, most of the soil particles sink to the ground due to the loss of speed. At this time, the soil volume increases due to looseness. A circular mound is formed in the area C below the rear wall of the casing, and is scraped and shaped by the lower edge of the casing carriage to form a stable soil zone layer with a certain thickness and a flat surface.

(2) Reverse the operation process

When the rotor is reversed, the high-speed rotating cutter cuts the soil upward from the bottom of the ditch, and throws the cut soil forward in the direction of mechanical advancement, forming a front long mound of soil in front of the rotor; under the same operating state, the long soil The size of the pile will remain basically the same, and it will continue to extend along the soil treatment section; a considerable part of the cut soil is thrown into the C area, and a part is thrown upward and hits the front wall, and the soil particles that collide with the shell It will fly around, and the soil particles that hit the cutter will be thrown in the direction of the rotor's rotation towards the rear wall of the casing. It can be seen that the treated soil is basically thrown from the upper part of the rotor to the area C by the mixing knife, and is scraped and shaped by the lower edge of the cover plate to form a stable soil layer zone.

From the analysis of the above working principle, it can be known that the entire mixing process is divided into two stages of cutting and mixing, but this two stages are not absolutely separated, but are intertwined with each other and often occur simultaneously.

Modern road mixing and stable soil mixing machines are almost single-rotor working devices. Generally, they need to be mixed twice on the same working belt, and some even mixed three or four times. This depends on the performance of the machinery and the nature of the project.
